Welcome to Girlguiding Wirral
A warm welcome to you from our new website. This website is being updated and is liableto change.
The first ideas of Scouting (& Guiding) were launched by Sir Robert Baden Powell in 1906 at the YMCA in Birkenhead, Wirral. Since then Girlguiding has gone from strength to strength and we have an active and flourishing county. Wirral County first came into being in 1972 when the county of Cheshire split into three: Wirral, Cheshire Forest and Cheshire Border; and we continue to have strong links with our neighbouring counties.
Our County campsite, Hadlow Fields, is popular with Guiders both in and out of Wirral and rings with the sound of girls enjoying the out of doors nearly every weekend of the year.
Come and visit us on Wirral and you can be sure of a warm welcome.
We are a friendly, forward looking county with plenty of enthusiasm and desire to provide the best Girlguiding and life opportunities for all our members. Come and join us!
Wirral County is one of the seventeen Guide counties in North West England Region. This region consists of all counties west of the Pennines from Cheshire in the south to the Scottish border, and includes the Isle of Man.
